The Woolmark label on a garment states that the product is made of pure new wool. This international trademark is also a guarantee of quality. Manufacturers who accept to produce in accordance with Woolmark’s strict performance standards can use this label on their products. It is important and necessary for you to know why the garments carry pure new wool tags and not just wool tags. The word ‘pure’ indicates that the product is made of 100% wool, while the word ‘new’ indicates that the wool fabric is made from previously untreated wool fibers. This is an important distinction because some wools can be recycled. Such a product does not comply with Woolmark standards and cannot bear this stamp. Woolmark is the World’s most recognized textile symbol. Approximately 2 billion people in the World know this symbol. 70% of consumers in Europe, North America, Asia and developing Asian countries acknowledge that this stamp gives them confidence when purchasing a wool garment.

It is the standard created for the monitoring and verification of the content of recycling in the final product in the supply chain.
